Bought copies of RedHat 7.2 CDs.
chris64 was the Seller on January 19, 2003 TechIMO
I wanted a copy of RedHat to install on my system. (I'm on a 56k dialup connection, so downloading the ISO images myself is out.) Made arrangements to send cash for a copy in the first part of December. I wasn't comfortable sending cash through the mail, but Christopher was OK with it and even offered to assume the risk if it got lost/stolen in transit. I sent the money and got the disks soon afterwards.
I tried to install and discovered that neither CD was bootable. I tried going old-school with boot.img on a floppy, but after the install program started, it refused to recognize the CDs as being RedHat install CDs; it kept asking me to insert the RedHat install disk into the CD-ROM drive.
Talked to Christopher about it and posted a message on TechIMO, asking if anybody knew of any special requirements for burning RedHat. Nobody did- Christopher volunteered to send another copy burnt with a different burning program.
It was quite a while before they came; I got an e-mail saying that the CDs were returned for insufficient postage and would be sent out again soon.
Received the new copy and was able to boot from the CD fine. The install program recognized them as RedHat CDs, but failed with a read error partway through the install. I tried copying the CDs to my hard drive and found that both disks had burn errors on them. Tried pulling an image with both CloneCD and Nero with the error correction settings cranked up, but still couldn't read some files off the CDs.
Christopher offered to send me his original RedHat CDs, which I could then copy and send back to him. However, I had lost patience by this time and bought a 6-pack for an old friend of mine with a high speed connection who downloaded and burnt the ISOs for me.
Overall, it was a frustrating experience, which is why this rating is not positive. Christopher did offer to continue trying- I was the one who gave up and got them elsewhere, which is why this rating is not negative. This leaves neutral. I also felt kind of bad that he must've spent about as much in postage sending CDs out 3 times then I paid for them, even though I had no control over the CDs being burnt incorrectly or insufficient postage being applied before shipment.January 19, 2003

Dead Duron 950 MHz cpu, to be converted to keychain decoration.
chris64 was the Buyer on November 7, 2002 TechIMO
Very smooth transaction, chris64 was helpful in suggesting that maybe I could still exchange the dead cpu for a new one. Although no currency actually changed hands, I believe chris64 would be a good trader. I have positive feelings about the way the whole deal worked out.

I have to hand it to chris as the ram he sent came out of the package during shipping and I just received the empty envelope. He was willing to make it right with me and did so more then expected. I would trust him to deal with again.
